Unlocking the value of a Mercedes
A classic car made by one of the world’s most trusted, luxury brands is a high-value asset.
If you require rapid funding, it’s possible to unlock the value of this asset – without having to sell it.
Reputable finance providers like Pawn My Car offer asset-based loans against vehicles, including classic models. Essentially, you can pawn your Mercedes, without compromising your ownership of the vehicle.
Loans granted by Pawn My Car in the past have ranged from thousands of rands to R10 million or more.
Where and how to apply for a loan against a Mercedes
Pawn My Car accepts classic, antique and vintage cars as security for short-term loans.
We offer a quick and easy online loan application process.
Simply give us details of your Mercedes (make, model, age and condition) and we’ll make a preliminary offer.
If you choose to proceed, we’ll ask that you bring the car to one of our branches for an expert appraisal. We’ll make a final offer and, should you accept, transfer the funds to your account via EFT.
Your classic Mercedes will then be stored in a high-security, access-controlled facility for the duration of the loan agreement. Once the loan and agreed interest have been repaid, the car is returned to you in its original condition.

What qualifies as a Mercedes classic
There’s no universal agreement on what constitutes a classic car.
Generally speaking, a vehicle can be considered a classic if it’s over 20 years old.
As a prolific auto manufacturer with origins dating back to 1886, Mercedes-Benz offers more classic car models than most other luxury brands.
Some classic car fans favour more recent models, which tend to be easier to maintain. These range from the spacious Mercedes saloons of the 1970s to sporty coupés and luxury cabriolets from the ‘80s.
Among the most collectible classic cars in the world are certain Mercedes models made in the 1950s and 60s. Top examples are the iconic Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing, 190 SL Cabriolet and 300 S Roadster.
The Mercedes brand continues to stand out in terms of reliability, technological and safety innovations and performance. It remains one of South Africa’s most popular luxury cars.
